...on your boat. So we called the divers to come out this week. They said they would be here around the end of the week. This morning Dave called to follow up with them and they said "Oh we were there Tuesday." Dave said, "I think you might have us confused with someone else." "Gee, I don't think so. You had a pitcher of sun tea brewing out in the cockpit?" So while we were gallivanting around Seattle the divers were here cleaning the bottom of our boat. He said it was in good shape, but our zincs were about gone, so they replaced them with two new ones. For the non-boaters, there is stray electrical stuff going on in the water that can cause galvanic corrosion of your very valuable underwater parts - things like propellers and propeller shafts. So we have sacrificial anodes attached below the water line to corrode instead. The ones that were about gone were the ones we had put on when we had the boat hauled out for the survey in October.
Nice.
The list of must-do items is very short now. Yes, that means soon I'll be posting about an actual sailing day! Today would have been a good day to go out. The weather the past few days has been outstanding. It's been clear and warm. Well, Anacortes warm - mid 70's. Although there has been a Small Craft Advisory for the last 24 hours. Which hasn't shown up. None the less it was upgraded to a Gale warning for tonight. That's okay we do have a few more items to make things truly "right" before going out. Things like putting a bumper on the corner of our dock slip. For our return.
I'll leave you with a view from Rotary Park
A couple of madrone trees just hanging out.
