Sunday is the day of rest.

Whatever.

Today we jumped out of bed at 6:45.  Mostly because we thought Simon was going to hurl.  He has a way of getting what he wants at any hour.

It was cool and gray.  Surprise!  But the temps were comfortable  I've talked about how Simon and I go for walks in Rotary Park. I took some pictures so you could come along with us.
This is the path up to the park.
The path through the park is wide and has lots of good dog smells.
And many prechewed sticks.
Toward the end of the trail you can see
the picnic shelter and the breakwater that protects us in the marina.
I like to look out at the exit from the marina basin.
This is the gateway to adventure!
This is the point of Cap Sante.
Hang a left around that point and you're in Guemes Channel.
We had a great sail there on our first trip up this way in 2005.
This stump is by the picnic shelter.
Cool huh?

The other day when we were out driving around the island with Heidi & Laura we stopped at a funky little marina.  The one with the cool old wooden ship with the forest growing out of it
Yeah, that one.
Well there was this cool historic RV in the parking lot.

How many of you are imagining great decorating ideas for this puppy?
Come on - I know you all are.
Okay, back to today - sorry, it was a project day. And a bunch of little ones.  Like I pulled the light fixture in the head and removed the wire connections and replaced them.  Now it works!  Exciting for us. Not so much for you.

Dave put the registration tags and lettering on the bow of the boat.  Again, not very exciting to read about, but it's one of the things that gets us closer to leaving the dock.

There were a few others, but they were even less glamorous.  So we'll leave it at that.

I can't tell you how much we appreciate all of the comments, emails, texts, phone calls from y'all.  We have  the best friends in the world.
I just saw this through the porthole in our bedroom.

We love you all and wish you lovely sunsets and breathtaking moonrises.

  1. Beautiful place to walk the dog, and you do not even have to cut the grass. Keep having fun.
