We are finally sitting in the cockpit with a beer with our feet up.
Lot's of work today. To start with, I had just a couple of things to do online this morning for work. So I got myself installed in the nav station (aka navigation station; aka my desk) this morning when it was still cool enough that I had uncomfortable toes. Apparently the Trawler Fest people were hogging all the broadband because I couldn't wring a signal out of any device I tried. It's excruciating. But a great lesson in patience. And it gave me time to hit A KEY and then go find a home for something that needed to be put away. Then I made another keystroke and found a home for something else. It's the zen of marina internet life.
Eventually the online work was done and it was moving time again. Dave is doing so well with his claw, I mean HAND. He's being careful to keep it dry and isn't pushing any envelopes. He's gonna heal up great and have yet another great scar for future rounds of "Scar Wars". Nobody stands a chance when Dave's in the game.
I am happy to report that Booner is unloaded and ready to go to storage tomorrow. And her berth is waiting for her! Thanks to Dave's diligence with Summit Storage. Mind you the back seat of the pick up truck is still loaded with shopping bags full of our stuff that we need to find homes for yet. But these things come in time. We filled up our fresh water tanks (for our RVer friends - when you're in a marina slip it's much like being in an RV space, except no full time water line and no sewer line. The water has to go into your tanks and the holding tank has to be pumped out. However the grey water goes overboard as you use it.) We seem to have an issue with our refrigeration, but we'll work on that next week. In the mean time we have a well insulated refrigerator box that we can use as an icebox.
So tonight we sleep on the boat. As I write this we are sitting in the cockpit.
It took us a whole beer to realize we could use our cool teak cockpit table.
Simon's tummy is full and he's busy digesting
Yep, he ate TWO cans of food tonight.
Bless his heart.
Here's a shot of the Chapple home with the car in the driveway
I love how this dockline looks new even though it's been holding our boat securely all winter long.
Tonight we get to sleep in our beloved "waterbed". I wish us all sweet dreams.

YEA! Home at last. May you have many great adventures! xo
